Chinese Water Deer

These deer originated in China, and do not have any antlers. In England they have established themselves in the wild as a result of escapes from parks. Their habitat is usually grassy areas, and the grass forms the main part of their diet together with root crops. The average height at the shoulder of the male is 600mm, and of the female, 550mm.
